FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Do fat-burning injections cause weight loss?

Local fat-dissolving injections are body-contouring procedures, not whole-body weight-loss treatment. They may change a small treated deposit but do not address visceral fat or replace medical weight management.

  • Are fat-dissolving injections safe?

They can be appropriate for selected people when the exact product, area and technique are suitable and an appropriately licensed clinician performs the procedure. They still have side effects and uncommon serious complications.

  • How many sessions will I need?

There is no universal number. It depends on the product, treatment area, amount of fat, response, side effects and the point at which further treatment no longer offers a reasonable benefit.

  • When will I see a result?

Swelling usually has to settle before contour can be assessed. Review is commonly measured in weeks rather than days, but the timing and degree of change vary.

  • Can the abdomen and thighs be treated?

Some clinics discuss these areas, but evidence and authorised use vary by product. A formulation used under the chin should not automatically be assumed suitable elsewhere.

  • Does treated fat return?

A local treatment does not prevent remaining fat cells from enlarging or fat from accumulating elsewhere if body weight changes. Stable habits remain important.
